Gig Guide
It's not often that we see a band with an artistic vision as ambitious and developed as that of this quartet from Asheville, N.C. SeepeopleS is out to save the world from an international conspiracy of cynical fat cats, and these guys fight with every medium at their disposal. Their mailing list/online discussion group is called the A.R.M.E., short for Anarchy and Revolution for Mother Earth. Their graphic presentations never stray from 1950s advertising images, chosen for ironic effect. To SeepeopleS' credit, they still have plenty of ideas left over for the music. It sounds like the better sort of Britpop, constructed from a limitless supply of styles and effects, including sugary harmonies, techno beats, ska and '70s-style synth noodlings.
